The Cat Who Changed My Mind

I’ve always loved animals.

When I was about 10 years old, my dad bought five chicks for me.

I helped raise them until they were healthy and meaty.

One of them even produced double-yolk eggs!

I also had a kitten, but he sadly died from a severe tummy injury.

Later, in my final year of secondary school, we had a pet bird named Tweety.

It didn’t stay with us for long either; it died right after I finished my final exams.

The grief was so intense that I thought to myself, “If I feel this sad about a bird, how will I ever handle the passing of my parents?”

I swore I would never have another pet again, whether a bird or a cat, because it’s just too sad to lose them.

But a few years ago, we decided to adopt a three-month-old kitten.

I was hesitant, but I felt so strongly about giving this kitten a forever home that I knew I had to break my old vow.

I made a commitment to save at least one kitten from a foster home, and that’s how we found Marcus.

He’s three years old now, and we love him so much.

Don’t let a fear of the past stop you from experiencing love in the present.

What’s a fear you’re ready to overcome?

Stay kreatif,

Siti
