I returned to my studies after taking a six-month leave to give birth to our eldest son.
I eventually completed my thesis, and receiving my bachelor’s degree was the best thing that ever happened to me after I got married.
Unlike my diploma ceremony, where my father couldn’t attend, I was so thankful and blessed that my husband and son were there with me.
However, my long-distance marriage was a major challenge.
Seeing my husband only twice a year was difficult.
I had to manage everything and raise our baby by myself.
But without fail, we chatted online on a daily basis, just like we did before we got married.
While friends and family visited, it was never the same as having my spouse by my side.
I believe a long-distance marriage is ten times harder than a conventional one.
But putting absolute trust in God and trust in each other were my main motivations that the day would come where we’d be reunited under one roof in the United States.
What is the single most valuable piece of advice you would give to couples facing a similar challenge?
Stay kreatif,
Siti
