Let Me Tell You a Secret

If you’re new here, I want to take a moment to introduce myself. I was a former portrait artist, my work has been published in three different countries; Malaysia, USA and the UK.

My focus is painting still life and florals in my primary medium, pastel. I’m totally self taught; after my diploma and worked as a secretary, I took portrait commissions outside work hours. I continued my studies in business degree in marketing just so I could learn how to market myself and my portrait business at the time.

I’ve been doing everything in my business; from photography to design my own website, I’m totally loving it. There’s so much to learn in so little time. Don’t you agree?

You think that’s a lot in my day to day work? I’m also a homeschool mom of 10+ years. The period that I didn’t produce much artwork after I quit portraits, I poured my time into learning papercrafting and mastered it.

To date, I’ve created the World’s National Flowers Project with a simple mission: to paint all 197 national flowers. However, this project quickly became something more meaningful.

I discovered my own Malay origins while painting my birth country’s national flower. That inspired me to pen down my adventure of traveling from Melaka, Malaysia to Los Angeles, California!

As an immigrant myself, I’ve had the exciting opportunity to meet people from all over the world who now call America home. I am constantly inspired by their journeys and the stories they told.

Through my World’s National Flower paintings, I hope to inspire you to reconnect with your own roots, document your own immigrant story, preserve your heritage, and connect with your native culture.

Let me know where you are from. I’d love to connect!

Stay kreatif,

Siti
